Named Designer of the Year at Maison&Objet 2020, famous Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades is a fan of the purist approach. Composed of simple geometric shapes, his lights are imbued with a strong sculptural dimension. The My Disc pendant combines minimalist aesthetics and cutting-edge technology to provide high-performance lighting. This very thin horizontal disc is crossed by a vertical rod. The matt white colour enhances the purity of the form to the maximum. The light, based on optical guide technology, is emitted uniformly downwards. The lighting is optimal: functional, homogeneous, glare-free. The My Disc pendant is particularly suitable to be placed above a dining table, as it guarantees diffused, soft light, very pleasant to light up a dinner party. As the lampshade is particularly thin, the My Disc pendant can be easily used in all environments with a particularly low ceiling. For Michael Anastassiades, it goes without saying that a “light which is only on 20% of the time must be particularly attractive when switched off, interacting through its presence alone with the environment”. This is how he forged his style from simple signs and volumes (a disc, a sphere, a line…).
